What an Unforgettable Day at Crowley Park in Glenview!

This day actually started at the beginning of summer, when we received a flyer in the mail for a local sports camp being put together by Sam, a young Glenview resident, and some of his friends.

We were immediately impressed and excited to see Sam bringing kids together to play, stay active and have fun. His program was so closely aligned with what we believe in at Athletes Headquarters Foundation that we knew we wanted to support what he and his friends had started. Seeing young people take the initiative to create something positive for other kids is exactly the kind of thing we love to be part of.

So we teamed up with Sam, the Chicago White Sox and the Glenview community to make yesterday a day the kids would never forget!

We were incredibly excited to have White Sox hitting coach and AHQF Co-Founder Derek Shomon, along with White Sox players Mike Vasil and Chase Meidroth, join us at the park. A huge thank you to Derek, Mike and Chase for taking the time to be there, interact with the kids and help make the day so special!

A special thank you to the Glenview Police Department for being there and showing their support. We truly appreciate you taking the time to support our community and, most importantly, all that you do every day to keep Glenview safe.

And thank you to Canes Chicken in Morton Grove for supporting the event and helping us put smiles on the kids’ faces with certificates for the participants and some awesome Canes merchandise!

To finish off an already incredible day, Peter Nestos from Spiros Deli went above and beyond and brought our White Sox players some of Glenview’s most iconic food — the famous “Bomber” sandwich!

This year is especially meaningful for Spiros as they celebrate their 61st anniversary of serving the Glenview community! What an incredible milestone for a local business that has been a part of the community for more than six decades. Thank you, Peter, for your generosity and for helping us make the day even more memorable!

What we loved most about yesterday wasn’t just the baseball, the athletes or all the great surprises. It was seeing kids bringing kids together, getting outside, playing sports and creating memories together.

That’s what this is all about.

Sometimes a simple flyer in the mail can lead to something pretty incredible. We’re so grateful we found Sam and had the opportunity to support what he and his friends started.
